Format For Hayes Races 8th August 2009

Adam Pinney has sent out this information

The next race in the British Roller Ski Series will be at Hayes on Saturday 8th August, starting at 4:00 p.m. The format of this race will be 2 x 10 km (2 x 6 laps) pursuit. Both legs will be on Start Combis and racers must stop after the classic leg, remove the rollers, put them back on again and start the skate leg.

The Junior/Novices race will be 2 x 5 km (2 x 3 laps) also using Start Combis. If there are enough pairs of rollers, both races will start at the same time. If there are not, then the Junior/Novices race will start at 5 p.m.

People are allowed to bring their own Start Combis and use them in the race, although we will use pool skis as the first priority.

Entry fees for the race (if you are not booked onto the training course) is £10 for adults, £5 for juniors.

If you are attending the course but not planning to race, and you are happy to volunteer as a time keeper or lap scorer for this event, please let me know. I will be very pleased to receive your offer in advance, because the race cannot obviously take place without timekeepers and lap scorers. If you’ve not done it before, you will receive instruction in how to do a top job.

Finally, please note that there are still places in the Beginners and Intermediates Groups for the coaching weekend, and you can book directly with Adam.
